Okay, a writer and researcher will clearly understand this thing I have come across.
Backstory: Soul Tribe Sanctuary had been wildly accused of being some kind of a cult and/or coven, among many other wild and false accusations. I, Marilee NiEtain, have a professional background that included working with clients and victims of a variety of cult recovery angles. And have recently been asked to provide professional opinion on cults and the way they operate, primarily because a few people knew of the article series on the topic, and what I have called Info Porn in the alt community, currently being developed. This sadly led to yet another lobbing of defamation and libel recently.
So much has been coming in from many angles (not isolated to the one annoyance that keeps cropping up from left field) and the switch from Soul Tribe Sanctuary to Mystik Mountain including the writing projects (primarily the Info Porn series). We are being contacted by other groups and agencies interested in learning about this puzzling phenomenon, as well as individuals who have fallen victim to these groups seeking understanding of what has happened to them and their loved ones. The explosion has created a HUGE series of articles and sub-articles - and even a proposal involving a leading, reputable magazine. So...the series are still in the making, with LOTS of valuable information soon finding its way to the members here at Mystik Mountain. And in the meantime I am providing referral links to various resources out there for the ones seeking answers and/or healing.
Clarification: This, nor the larger series of articles I am writing, are in any way singling out any one specific group or person. Though I have no doubt it will be spun to look that way in some circles. Oh well. We will not engage in that sling fest either. I AM, however, taking a strong and in depth look at what I am now starting to call the alt cult phenomena. And it covers an extremely broad range of hard/radical ideologies to soft/subversive narratives. But ALL with the same patterns quite evident to a critical eye. On a global scale. As well as extremely painful and mind-bending trauma resulting from the behaviors presenting themselves in these groups.
Please keep in mind, this subject is only one of MANY offered by Mystik Mountain. All intended to a well-rounded, return-to-center and practical application stance. We want to continue offering no-nonsense information and skill sets of research and critical thinking. Arts lost in the onslaught of the predatory and opportunistic alt community fantasy frenzy. A frenzy that is imploding on itself and also rotting from the inside out. We want to offer an alternative to the alternative. A sane and stable core to act as a rudder in the remaining turbulence. YOUR core. Not someone else's idea of what that core should be. YOUR LifePath. YOUR wellness. Because without Service to Self (minus the convenient shame bombing), Service to Others (minus the love bombing snares) has no viable foundation.
Some other subjects woven in is creativity, individuation, self-actualization, and stepping off the instant gratification and stimulation simulation merry-go-round. Getting back to the natural cycles and relationship with Self and Others. And a whole lot more.
In the present moment: As I have been continuing my scouring of old research and clinical files, libraries, journals, and the back pages of the internet (because the front pages are now worthless due to the antics of manipulating search engine key words, common to the likes of these alt cults), sometimes a thorough researcher will come across a rare gem of information. And this tired and frazzled mass of grey matter found this article to be quite enlightening. I thought it worth sharing here. Some of the stuff we have experienced with various levels of what this series is about would warp even the most stable senses of humor.

This post is simply an update and the larger article project will be rolling out soon. While I will not offer my private reasons for the delays we have experienced as of late. Mostly due to the potential of the information being exploited and misused. Those who have stuck it out and truly know us for who we are know the reasoning behind it. All lessons in appreciating delayed gratification. And the patience is much appreciated. You are all awesome!
