I was not sure which forum category to share this amazing Red Thread moment to before I shut things down for the night. But I think you will agree, Hearth & Home is a good choice.
Often times, and especially now, we lose track of what DOES work in our institutions and systems, focusing on what doesn't work or has become outdated. Broad brushing it all into some overly exaggerated delusion that it all has to be burned down. Can't we take a step back and strategically build on our strengths and address our weaknesses. Instead of shredding it all apart. Including each other?
With all of the dark, heavy things we in mental health, social work, law enforcement, and foster care help to transmute...including the inter-agency horrors and extraneous abuses of the system(s), this one is in tribute to the compassionate ones in the trenches. The ones who may never see the tremendous difference you make. The ones who not only deal with the abuses, but are wrongfully accused of being "the problem." Know the odds are, there is one (likely more) out there who grabbed those seeds of healing offered... And blossomed. <3
And an extra special tribute to the ones who bravely accepted those seeds and did the hard work in the blossoming process too. Past, present, and future...
We ALL matter. Each and every one of us. Take a deep breath and FEEL it wash over you. And carry on...
